Mad Alice has recently delivered at Blackhill & Consett Heritage Park Lodge three major and extremely successful over 60's projects led by our Artistic Director Shelley O'Brien.

Our first project funded by The Learning Revolution

Transformation Fund saw us create a memory book

and, working in partnership with CULTURE SHOCK

TYNE & WEAR MUSEUMS, digital stories.

 

Our second project, CHRISTMAS REMINISCENCE, was delivered in partnership with Colour Your Life at Leisureworks in Nov/Dec 2013 Over 8 weekly sessions, the participants shared festive childhood memories & favourite Christmas carols. This project was delivered in conjunction with Consett Brass, Consett Junior School & St Pius XTH R C Primary School. Children & The Band provided musical accompaniment & singing, led by Musical Director David Jacskon. A specially created CD of festive memories was created. A lovely keepsake for friends and family! Colour your life is an Arts On Perscription service funded by NHS County Durham and aims to provide free access to creative activities to promote positive health & well being. This project inspired the group to produce a SCHOOL DAYS & HOLIDAYS REMINISCENCE CD in spring 2014 with Mad Alice thanks to funding from County Durham Community Foundation & Cllr Temple.

 

All of the projects have been a great way to explore creativity & promote well-being & great fun was had by all!
