WELCOME!
Mad Alice Theatre Company develops and produces high quality professional theatre touring in Co. Durham and to our wider North East region as well as nationally.

We specialise in theatre for children and young people and families and as well as touring to theatres , schools and community venues, our out door promenade/site specific productions have also been enjoyed by all ages due to their unusual and accessible nature– despite the British Weather!

Being aware of the positive effects of drama and theatre we are committed to providing inclusive work and activities which benefit those with whom we work. Activity in schools and the wider community, including over 60s, unemployed and homeless young people, the bereaved, people with mental health issues and adults and children affected by domestic abuse have all formed a core part of what we do.
We devise and write our own work as well as producing existing scripts and support the development of new writing.

We regularly deliver holiday drama projects for children and young people, music and drama workshops for toddlers and their families and a wealth of drama and storytelling sessions supporting the curriculum.
May 2020 saw Mad Alice Theatre receive Emergency Response Funding from Arts Council England. We were thrilled to secure this grant and it has meant that we can continue our wonderful work throughout the Corona Virus Pandemic.
